Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Yes

The use of Metformin + Linagliptin does not usually cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) on its own. However, it can occur if you do not consume enough calories, miss or delay meals, drink alcohol, over-exercise, or take other antidiabetic medications along with it. Symptoms include nausea, headache, irritability, hunger, sweating, dizziness, fast heart rate, and feeling anxious or shaky. Regular monitoring of blood sugar levels is important. Always carry glucose tablets, honey, or fruit juice with you.

Yes, long-term use of Metformin + Linagliptin can lead to vitamin B12 deficiency, as it interferes with its absorption in the stomach. Untreated deficiency may cause anemia and nerve problems, including tingling, numbness in hands and feet, weakness, urinary problems, changes in mental status, and difficulty maintaining balance. Consult your doctor if you experience these symptoms. Monitoring of B12 levels and supplementation may be advised by your doctor.
